This chapel, on the South side of the Chancel, contains two features whose origins are not known.  There is a dark bannerole hanging in it, with the crest of the Swete family who mostly lived in the nearby parish of Modbury, and there is also a helmet, which is too small for a man's head, and may have been a funerary helmet.

In past centuries, helmets and other weapons of the 'Home Guard' were kept in the church as this was often their rallying point.
