This chapel, on the South side of the Chancel, contains two features whose
origins are not known. There is a dark bannerole hanging in it, with the
crest of the Swete family who mostly lived in the nearby parish of Modbury, and
there is also a helmet, which is too small for a man's head, and may have been a
funerary helmet.
In past centuries, helmets and other weapons of the 'Home Guard' were kept in
the church as this was often their rallying point.
There are two further memorials to the Swete family in the South aisle.
