The Parish of Ermington
Ermington is situated in the area of South
Devon know as the South Hams.
The ancient parish was once much bigger than it is now and it gave its name to a Hundred which covered nearly all the area between the Rivers Yealm and Avon.
Later, but before the Parish of Ivybridge was formed, the Parishes of Ermington,
Ugborough, Harford and Corwood met at the Ivy Bridge.
At the last census,
Ermington had a resident population of 1068 and it includes several hamlets like
Westlake, Worthele and Hunsdon as well as the village of Lee Mill, with its large
industrial estate and superstore.
